Our flight arrived in Bali around 6pm on 22.November and we made our way to our guesthouse in Sanur. The next morning we left Sanur very early to head for Ubud located in the centre of Bali. We had booked two nights in the “Arjuna 2” Guesthouse which we enjoyed so much that we returned again for our last four nights on Bali. Ubud is a small town filled with temples, palaces, traditional houses and full of cultural and artistic highlights.

We made it to Indonesia!
After travelling through South-East Asia for three months by bus, boat, car, tuk-tuk, bicycle, mini-van and by foot, it felt very strange to get on an airplane again and fly to our next destination: Indonesia!
Our plane arrived in Denpasar on Bali in the early evening of 22.November and we quickly made our way to Sanur where we spent our first night. We are excited to see what Indonesia has to offer and cannot wait to tell you more about our adventures very soon.

Singapore – A clean country
We made it to Singapore!
After travelling through South-East Asia without a single flight for three months, our arrival in Singapore represents our last stop before having to board a plane again. We took a four hour bus ride from Melacca in Malaysia to Singapore and arrived at “Footprints Hostel” on 18.November.

Greetings from Singapore!
Having spent 2 weeks exploring Malaysia, we have finally arrived in Singapore. Crossing the Malaysia-Singapore border was probably the fastest border crossing we have ever experienced! The fact that the bus driver did not wait for all passengers to pass didn’t help the situation. At least we still jumped on the bus before it left.
We are planning to spend 4 days here before catching our flight on 22.November to Bali!!

Melacca – Where East meets West
Formerly the largest and strategically most important port of the colonial era, Melacca now offers a step back in time to a city formed by strong Dutch, British, Portuguese, Chinese, Hindu and more recently Muslim influences. Upon arriving in the city the first thing one sees is a large Dutch square with a clock tower, a city hall, a windmill and a large river separating the different parts of the city. We were surprised how much resemblance this part of the city bore with Amsterdam.

Kuala Lumpur – The Capital
A modern city with very special twin towers.
We arrived in KL on 14.November following a 6hour windy bus from the Cameron Highlands that lead once through what felt like the entire Malaysian rainforest all the way down to the coast towards Kuala Lumpur.

Cameron Highlands – Tea time
We finally made it to the Cameron Highlands, famous for its many tea plantations! Of course, a visit to these picturesque plantations was one of our top ten things to do on our bucket list for Malaysia. It was a great experience!
